I hope you are all keeping well and safe during the lead up to midterm. It is a stressful time but our welll earned break is almost upon us!

I am working in partnership with the TEFL Institute of Ireland on this blog post. I will just go though in this post some of the courses they offer. They are very affordable too & TEFL.ie often run special offers and promotions so just keep an eye out for those!

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, millions of workers around the world are realising the benefits of being able to work remotely. The worldwide demand for learning the English language is growing , especially throughout the coronavirus crisis, with the need for native English speakers having risen by 80% since March. Obviously with the way things are with the pandemic, teaching abroad seems like a long way away at the moment, but you can still teach English online from the comfort of your own home. It would also look great on your teaching CV!

The TEFL Institute of Ireland offer a wide array of courses, so you will find whatever level you are looking for, I’m sure. The website is very clearly laid out with sections for courses which help for entry level jobs, top paying jobs, specialist teaching courses and classroom courses. To teach English as a foreign language, teachers will need at least 120 Hour of TEFL training, this is the premium TEFL qualification.

It is definitely something worth looking into if you are perhaps a student teacher or if you are working as a substitute teacher at the moment, as online teaching could be a handy extra income for you.

There is a whole section with step by step details regarding the teaching online process here; with a helpful video explaining the process: https://tefl.ie/ref/136/

Last month, I promoted @TEFL.ie 30 Hour Teaching English Online course which was available for €8.00 and I had a lot of queries about which courses would be most suitable for teachers to do and so on. Remember this was only a tester, you will need to have the main qualification. You can become a qualified TEFL teacher by completing the online TEFL Course with the 120-hours being the minimum amount required to become certified and employable. This fully accredited TEFL certificate allows you to teach English as a foreign language either online or in a classroom. It might be of interest if you have the time on your hands.

Choosing to do a course with the TEFL Institute of Ireland ensures your course is:

 Internationally accredited and recognised

  • Affordable
  • Possible to do entirely online
  • Will legally allow you to work as an English teacher anywhere in the world
  • Can help you find an English teaching job through their career centre

The TEFL Institute of Ireland offer self-paced courses with 24-hour access to a moodle student account where you can complete your course. You can complete your accredited TEFL certification in your own time, and at your own pace.
