Hi everyone,

I have had  inquires about holding another seminar in Dublin. I had a meeting with Jury’s hotel this morning, and I have a room booked provisionally. The seminar will be on the 20th of August from 9:00-1:00.

So, what is the seminar about?

The seminar is aimed mainly at newly qualified teachers, like myself. I remember being completely lost and confused at times during TP/the DIP and with application forms. So essentially, it will be a four hour seminar on the following topics.

Subbing- how to stand out with your CV, how/when to approach schools, how to impress while in schools etc.

Job Application Process

The DIP- plans ( sample long and short term plans will be provided)

Thematic planning while doing the DIP (makes it much easier)

Setting up an educational blog/class blog

Earning extra as a teacher ( camps, tuition etc.)

Must have resources on a budget

Resources and how to use them for effective teaching.

Hopefully I will get through all of the above in four hours, but that is the gist of it anyway!

Folens and Edco Digital will also be present on the day with samples of their books and diaries.

Edco are providing me with fifteen of these diaries to give away at the seminar, along with book samples!

Prim-Ed Publishing are offering a full set (four books) of The Relief Teacher Toolkit resource (it is an excellent resource for subbing!)

And I am offering a lot of goodies and prizes which will be raffled throughout the day. There’s hundreds of euro worth of prizes, and tickets for this seminar are only ten euro!

This hamper is perfect for a substitute teacher or any teacher really! It has a variety of brand new books for all different classes, which is useful if you don’t have a set class for the year.

Two resource boxes will be raffled too. These contain everything a busy teacher needs- staples, pins, post its, blue tack, pens etc.
